I develop student teacher relationships by greeting everyone at the door individually a la Harry Wong. This way in a class of 32 I can let each student know that I know that they are here and I can also tell who is up and who is down and who is ready to get to work in class. I also can tell who is feeling comfortable speaking in Spanish, who needs new challenges, and who needs additional encouragement and support with his speaking skills.
I also help to develop student teacher relationships by smiling and being up beat. I enourage my students to take changes and to try new things in their Spanish learning.
